Begin an unforgettable trip through almost 7,500 square miles (12,000 km²) of fantastic landscapes of salt and surrealist landscapes of deserts and colored lagoons of the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve.
The dazzling white mantle of the Salar de Uyuni resembles an immense glacier. In winter (dry season from May to November), when the surface hardens, geometric figures formed by the salt particles agglomerated into polygons appear. In summer (rainy season from December to March) the salt desert is transformed into a giant mirror that blends into the sky of the purest blue you’ve ever seen before.

Our adventure begins by visiting an open-air museum of ancient and impressive field trains.
You will enter the Uyuni salt flat through Colchani where we will see the processing of salt and lots of salt, we will visit the salt hotel, water holes and we will continue to the center to visit the Incahuasi Island of volcanic rock and giant cacti, where you can take a short walk to be able to have a 360 ° view of the salt desert. Descending from the top, you can enjoy a private lunch in the middle of the salt plain with spectacular views of the Thunupa volcano.
Then we will head north, a distance of several kilometers to the Thunupa volcano, whose slopes access to visit the Pucará de Ayque (pre-Columbian ruins), with excellent views, the Mummies of Coquesa and the Thunupa Viewpoint, which ascend by car to near its crater to enjoy an impressive view of the Salar, in all its splendor.
Overnight at the Hotel Tayka de Sal, which are ecological model hotels with private bathroom, heating and excellent service. The Tayka de Sal hotel is located at the foot of the majestic Tunupa volcano.
In the morning we go to the fish island and then we continue to the Mala Mala Bay, at the opposite end of the Salar to go to Galaxy Cave, an extraordinary place where we can appreciate ancestral burials and petrified cacti.
We arrive at the Hotel Tayka de Piedra, located in San Pedro de Quemes, where we will enjoy a unique gastronomic experience with the flavors of regional food.
Towards the south we go to the smaller lagoons such as: Cañapa, Chiarkota, Honda and Ramadita, where a large number of flamingos and other birds can be founded, such as geese and Andean gulls accompany the flamingos in these lagoons flanked by snow-capped volcanoes that have a green skirt down.
We entered the desert sand and pebbles where the landscapes were painted with very beautiful hues to reach the hotel.
Overnight at Hotel Tayka del Desierto, located in the Siloli desert, a model of a community hotel.

At dawn, you will set out in search of the well-known Sol de Mañana geysers and will reach the first rays of light. This is the highest point on the route, about 5000 meters, and the cold is intense.
See puddles where the ground seems to boil red, gray and scarlet mud and can be traversed.
The desert and the Salar de Chalviri will be another great landscape that combines the white snow, the ocher desert, the blue waters and the white of the borax.
Take a bath in Termas de Polques and enjoy a hearty breakfast outdoors.
To get out of this desert valley, you will visit Laguna Verde at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. You will arrive at this lagoon just in time to see the water turn from emerald green to a duller color.
Upon your return, stop for lunch at Laguna Colorada, a main nesting center for three species of flamingos, where algae and plankton are activated by solar radiation and wind.
After enjoying this unique experience, you will be driven back to Uyuni, meeting deserts, volcanoes and animals in the area along the way.
