Day 1: San Pedro, Chile – Hotel Tayka del Desierto (L, D)

The pick up is from the Hotel in San Pedro at 06:30 am, to cross the border at Hito Cajones. As soon as you enter Bolivia, a strange scene opens, dominated by the Licancabur Volcano and the two-body mirror of the Laguna Verde, one of the treasures of the Eduardo Avaroa Flora and Fauna Reserve and the first point of our 4X4 expedition. , incomparable in the world.
We will approach the Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. As we move away, another large expanse will open towards us: the Valley of the Ladies of the Desert, followed by the Polques Hot Springs, where we can take a full-body bath before leaving for the Geysers of Sol de Mañana, a surprising sign of the activity of the volcanic zone.
Continuing through desert areas, the diadem of the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve, the Laguna Colorada, the main nesting center of the three species of flamingos, whose algae, activated by solar radiation and the wind, overlook both the lagoon and the pink colour.
Here we will visit the stone tree and on the way we will find the indomitable vicuña, an auquenid with a proud figure, which is seen by small groups.
We will continue on our way to the Siloli desert where the Tayka del Desierto Hotel receives the traveler in rooms with private bathrooms, hot water and heating.
Overnight at Tayka del Desierto hotel.

Other birds, such as Andean gulls and ducks, accompany flamingos in these lagoons flanked by volcanoes, often snow-capped.

To continue our journey we will start in the 4X4. After about an hour, you will arrive at the abandoned farmhouse of Cuye, where you can see the first view of the Salar.
After driving through the desert, we will arrive at the foot of the Tunupa Volcano, to visit and rest in the town of Tahua located on the shores of the salt flat and at the foot of the Volcano, to enjoy a wonderful sunset in the middle of the salt desert.

Day 3: Tahua - Salar de Uyuni - Uyuni (B, L)
Day 3: Tahua - Salar de Uyuni - Uyuni (B, L)

Today we will dedicate ourselves to the unknown salt for tourism or Salar Sensual. Through the salt crust we will direct our 4X4 towards Ch'jini, very little visited by tourism despite its beauty without a partner. From here we will continue through the salt crust and we will direct our 4X4 towards Coquesa, towards the north, from where we will start the ascent in 4x4 to gain an appreciable height in the Thunupa, from where the views of the Monumental Salt Flat are impressive. . Beginning of a short walk to see the chullpar, a cave with ancient burials, in which a local guide will explain the history of the mummies. On the way to the hotel we will visit the Chantani Museum, with its sample of ceramics, whimsical stone shapes that resemble animals and their silent mummies that refer to the ancient burials in these lands.
Then we will visit the Ch'jini cave, the result of an underwater geological formation with calcareous bodies.
After this visit we will continue skirting the north and west banks of the Salar, with brief stops at some points to steal images from angles never seen by tourism. It is an intimate corner of the Sensual Salt Flat, of incomparable scenic beauty, but also of a spiritual presence that emanates from stone constructions, more than a thousand years old, which makes us think about the way of life of ancestral populations.
Then we will return to the Salar towards its center, the Incahuasi Island, a center of tourist attention that has an ascent path to its summit that becomes an extraordinary 360-degree viewpoint and that surprises by the number of giant cacti.
We will continue our journey towards the Colchani salt mounds, after brief stops at the Museum of the Hotel de Sal and a water well. They will be the last stops in the Salar, for the final photographs with the sunset where we will taste national cocotels and exotic drinks for this event.
Half an hour later we will arrive in Uyuni and we will end our services with the assurance of having given you an unforgettable experience in this corner of the world.
